Carrie gained a first class degree in Illustration at The University of Brighton before continuing her studies at The Royal College of Art. As a 2007 post-graduate of the RCA, Carrie began working as an artist and illustrator. Carrie is a ‘rustic magpie’ and works either in collage; arranging her found aged papers, painted papers, drawings and print detail into a resolved composition or layering plenteous oil on canvas; allowing for high pigmentation and rich swathes of texture. Her recent paintings are best described as fields of colour that evoke beautiful vistas of both gentle and more dramatic effect. She has produced Illustrative works for The Guardian, Waitrose, BBC Radio Times, The Sunday Telegraph, Design Week, Aesthetica Magazine, Hodder & Stoughton and Weidenfeld & Nicolson among others.
