The Midas Touch - From Vogue To DegreeArt

Celebrating the Olympic victories of Team GB, Vogue UK have put together a very special photoshoot for the 2012 September issue. Vogue presents the 'Midas Touch', a shimmering fashion story featuring bespoke, gold pieces created by some of Britain's best labels such as Alexander McQueen, Burberry and Christopher Kane. Models in this sublime fashion story include fashion heavy weights such as Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Georgia May Jagger, Karen Elson, Stella Tennant, Lily Cole, Lily Donaldson, Jourdan Dunn and fashion's male supermodel; David Gandy. Naturally such a mammoth task has been photographed than none other than Nick Knight and styled by Vogue's Lucinda Chambers. The shoot is simply stunning, and really celebrates the best of what Britain has to offer in the fashion stakes interms of design, modelling, styling, and photography talent. We couldn't help but notice DegreeArt's very own Matthew Paul Morgan's 'Untitled' piece bares a remarkable resemblence to the beautiful dresses on show for the September issue and would seemlessly slot right in to the stunning collection.

Morgan says of his work, "As a fashion design student,  body form and movement is really interesting to me. How clothing and fabric can encase a body and move along with it, or restrict it is a great thing to be able to manipulate and experiment with. However, it is the freedom of this movement that interests me most, and what I try to bring to my illustrations. I use paint by either scraping with card or painting with a sponge to register this movement on the paper, before reigning it all in with strong, confident lines of graphite."
