Mother King
Mother King
Drawing, in its broadest sense, is mark making. The act of drawing provides visual representations of the everyday. Using an image torn from a magazine article, Manchester Mum, the back of the initial image has been observed. The drawing has then become a form, not giving the ideology/depiction of a Mother. The frustrating element of not being able to view the image in its entirety is accompanied by an image of a crown, torn from cardboard. With the bricolage process and shoddy construction of the crown and the Mother's identity concealed, the work is a, some-what, anti climax (referring to the title).
