My work is an investigation of the transient, the ephemeral, the immaterial as opposed to the object.

Boundaries and perception are a core concern in my practice. As is my interest in the physical and psychological aspects of environments and how this affects the way we live and operate. In a very broad sense the work centres around the connectedness of things. The boundaries that we define for ourselves and those imposed on us collectively. My work always involves light, whether in the medium -I work with film/Installation and Photography, or as the causal subject or starting point in painting. Light – and shadow, throughout art history has been used to allude to that which is palpably not present, the other, the opposite, and linked to memory.

In painting my interest is not so much in the physicality of  paint or the process of applying paint but rather in achieving something minimal and full of ambiguity. An intangible solid.
