The aesthetic of my work has an antique, decadent, and extravagantly theatrical direction, which is constructed by sourcing found and brought second hand objects that hold nostalgic or symbolic references. Displacing these objects from their context allows me to create my own visual language in order to portray a narrative that can be interpreted in a wide sense depending on the viewers own personal associations. Within my work there is a deliberate tension between belief and illusion, raising questions in the mind of the viewer and combining the absurd with the bound and determined. The work harks back to feelings of childhood, dreams and a world that could only exist in our minds.
