“Journey Through Red” and its partner “Exit” were painted simultaneously. For me they are a visual demonstration of a time of questioning, turmoil, change, resolution and renewal. As such I feel that they belong together, and as I often paint pairs of works, they could be displayed as a pair. However they would each also work on their own. Either of them may perhaps be appropriate to commemorate a difficult time that was finally resolved. The colours are strong and there is lots of black. “Exit” is far more textured than “Journey through red”.
