Information LANDSCAPE AND INTERIORS WINNER Heidi Yvonne Taylor 2011 ‘Cuckmere Haven’ Digital file taken with a Canon 450D Limited Edition of 25 The Cuckmere Valley is probably one of the most beautiful and beloved of many areas of outstanding beauty on the south coast of England. I am concerned about the future of the estuary at the end of the valley, where the meandering river reaches the sea between the towering chalk cliffs of the Seven Sisters on the one side and Seaford Head on the other. Many generations of local residents, tourists, walkers and canoeists have visited this glorious spot, which is a region reclaimed from the sea by our Victorian ancestors. I want to preserve the Cuckmere before it’s lost. |
