Information LANDSCAPE AND INTERIORS WINNER Leah Carvell University for the Creative Arts Rochester, 2009 ‘The Hidden Valley’ Archival Digital Print Limited Edition of 10 The Hidden Valley is an image taken on a trip to North Wales to visit the town where my Grandparents once lived. Behind their old bungalow is what we always called The Hidden Valley because people did not seem aware of this beautiful place. The lone tree appeared out of the fog as we drove further into the valley. Using a low-fi medium format camera I had only a few moments before the weather turned against me. The imperfect image captures the magical yet sometimes foreboding atmosphere of Llangollen but it also represents our familial connection to the area. |
