Medium: Mixed-Media, Condoms, Sheet, wooden Baton Artist Profile: A lot of my Art has been inspired by my HIV Positive Status, My Focus on life changed dramatically and I feel empowered by disclosing my status through the work I create. Humour is so important and I have been greatly influenced by Duchamp and Meret Oppenheim. I also like to play with contraditions in my work. Piece Description:Inspired by the Quilts that were made to remember the people who have died of AIDS in the 80s/90s. Made with 'expired' condoms playing with the contradiction of the word SEXY embazoned by Gold condoms. |
