Review of Transient City

PRIVATE VIEW OF A TRANSIENT CITY ABOUT THE EXHIBITION:
DegreeArt.cpom presents The Transient City, the debut show from artist-on-the-rise Lewis Scott. Since graduating from Central St Martins in design, environment and architecture this June, Scott has built a reputation as an artist with an eye for urban landscapes. Looking beyond familiar landmarks to the darker, hidden aspects of cityscapes, he draws on the changing skies and weather. Scott's paintings are often heavy on foregrounding; it's as though you're looking at them from behind a wire fence or through gauze. This vantage point creates an eerie distancing effect, also evident in his photos of anonymous night skies.
