Artist Profile

My aim is to explore ideas of space and how the nothingness surrounding certain objects can be what makes them intriguing. Our world is made of matter, of space; there’s so much of it, it almost seems a solid thing.

To draw or paint is to meditate on a thought or object created as a way of organising, visualising and sorting through my thoughts. I find myself constantly attempting to preserve the ephemeral if only for a moment and through
this idea like to use transient or fragile materials such as paper and threads.
I consider myself to be a ‘process artist’ and enjoy experimenting with the physicality of materials and ways of combining the movements of different processes to create a single object.
For example the smooth motion of knitting with the hard motion of hammering a nail. There is also a distinct feeling of escapism in the soothing repetition of a certain motion that is very important to me.
