Benedict XVI Re:bound (Ball Gag Pope)

My practice is grounded with a 1st Degree in drawing, and has developed into more sculptural and installation outcomes, particularly those that directly involve the viewer - and also a 1st Class BA in Contemporary Applied Arts in which I explored textiles as fine art practice.  Much of my previous work culminated in a major solo show (DEICIDE London), a retrospective of a body of work that reversed female submissiveness advocated by religion and investigated feminism and theology.  Although this feminist enquiry is still very much a key part of my practice, my work has recently taken a major new direction.  This has been underpinned by my MRes investigation into the assisted reproduction art of Turner Prize nominee Helen Chadwick, and I am currently developing my interest in practice-led research into the biosciences, particularly stem-cell technology.
