Profile

I have practised abstract painting for 5 years, graduating (May 2009) in the Painting Department in the Hungarian University of Fine Arts.

My early paintings explored ideas surrounding nature and landscape, but nowadays my focus is centres essentially on the problems of the visualization of space and time.

My work aims to interrogate the effects of perspective, the techniques we use to achieve dimensionailty, and the means by which optical illusions and depths are sustained on the flat surface of the painting itself. Other elements of my work (colours, composition...) are referring to the history of art, different symbolic meanings, or a concrete motive, like the buildings, surfaces, squares.

The world we live in is becoming more and more virtual and I try to share my thoughts about this virtuality with the viewer.

I use very simple motives on my paintings but these motives take precize and long work to paint well, and to be similar to a print or another product that was generated by machines.

This similarity puts question to the need of the unique products and the presence of mass production in the art world.
