Investing in artists might seem daunting but with an index of paintings up 160% in the last five years... here's how to turn making money into an ART form.

Toby Walne's piece reports on Art Market Research - which tracks painting prices - believes now is an opportunity for investors.

The article highlighted the investment potential of artists Ana Restrepo University of Northampton (MA Fine Art , 2018), Paul West London College Of Communication (BA (Hons) ,1987), Sophie Derrick Leeds University (BA Hons Fine Art , 2008) and  2019/20 Signature Art Finalist, Hira Gedikoglu University of Oxford with a First Class Honors in Fine Art in 2017.

"One of the biggest investment winners in the recent past has been contemporary art. Over the past five years, the most collectable pieces have risen in value by some 160 per cent, according to data compiled by Art Market Research, an arm of estate agent Knight Frank.

Over the past 12 months, this same index has risen in value by just under 5 per cent, yet between the coronavirus shutdown in March and June it fell 7 per cent."
