WORLD OF WORK WEEK | ALDRIDGE FOUNDATION

With work experience, internships and one-on-one career guidance canceled due to the pandemic, the Aldridge Foundation are making sure that their students still have access to essential insights into the world of work.

Their World of Work Week will help young people interact with industry professionals and access a host of online career resources, in the absence of traditional summer term, hands-on work experience.

We were delighted to run their Creative, ‘Seminars', panel Q&A session to give students a chance to explore a variety of creative careers – and career paths – as well as receive advice from experts on practical, positive steps they can take now, towards planning for their future.

Shona Nichols, CEO of the Aldridge Foundation says “It’s up to us all to ensure that young people have all the opportunities we can give them during this difficult time. Thanks to the support of our partners, local businesses and the industry professionals who have taken part so far, we’re aiming to open students’ eyes to the wide range of careers available to them – and the possible routes they could take to get there. World of Work Week will hopefully go a long way towards building confidence to take action and start making their dreams for the future become a reality.”

Our panel talk was hosted by Gallery Director and Co-Founder Elinor Olisa and she was joined by:

Isobel Beauchamp, Gallery Director and Co-Founder of Artellite Ltd
Jahnai Hall, The Signature Art Prize Co-Coordinator
Lana Matsuyama - Creative Director and Founder of Design Pool & Artist
Ramzi Musa - Artist & Fashion Designer
Catherine Dwyer Harvey - Director and Founder Rock & Rose
