In common with many of my paintings I did not know what this was about until I finished it. This one has layers of meaning personal to me, but they are shared by most of us. There is a very steep hilly road in my village called Heartbreak Hill, challenging to climb but the views from the top are wonderful! Life can be full of heartbreaks that are difficult to surmount, but the lessons are often that we should continue to climb higher in spite of them!
