University Of East London (BA Hons Photography, 2011 , 2011)

My Senior school education was at Brighton and Hove High School for Girls, which is part of the Girls Day School Trust. At Brighton Hove and Sussex Sixth form college, I took Photography in my second year at AS level and gained an A grade. This year’s study has literally changed my life as I discovered my great love of the subject.

I spent 2 years at Brighton and Hove City College, and successfully gained a BTEC National Diploma in Photography earning 2 Distinctions and a Merit.

I have spent the last two years at the University of East London studying for my BA (Hons) Degree in Photography, after having transferred from Brighton University where I passed the first stage of the degree. I chose to go to the UEL as it was in London where the action is and photographic opportunities are. I originally intended to go straight on to study for a Masters but I feel now that I need to have some experience in the Work place and so am going to wait a little while. I would love to study for a Masters but what with Fee increases at the moment this just isn't possible. I am still considering doing an MA and also looking into the possiblitly of studying in the USA and shall be grateful if anyone could assist me with a bursary.

During my studies I have found that my forte is with landscapes and travel photography and I hope to specialise in this area. Recently I also published a book through Blurb with images from the Cuckmere Haven East Sussex series. In 2009 I won the award Landscape photographer of the year with DegreeArt.com .

I have now completed my final year and now hold my BA Hons degree in Photography. I was awarded a travel bursary to go to Helsinki.

Although I now work full time in Postgraduate education, you’ll still find me in my spare time with a camera in my hand. Photography will always be my true passion and calling. Unfortunately, these last 18 months due to Covid 19, has caused me to be unable to get out and about exploring new landscapes, but I’m hopeful that travel will be on the cards in the near future.

The first one in December 2009 was - 'I'll Be Your Mirror' where my image was chosen to promote the show. The next show was 'Realisation' which was held at the Rag Factory off of Brick Lane in November 2010. As for my final year my work was featured in the degree show at the University of East London at the beginning of June which I Co-curated.
