This is one of a collection of drawings made with my eyes closed and no marks were added after my eyes were opened. The edited video is included in my profile to illustrate both the physicality and authenticity of this process. I have previously made drawings on location at St Pau'ls Cathedral, London and this experience has played its part in the making of these drawings made without sight. The critical eye is not involved in the process. This encourages new questions to arise concerning the significance of the resulting marks and how they should be read when sight is not involved, The wet soluble pastel and the dampened paper interact together to play their independent part in the making. Marks dissolve over the paper's surface allowing tonal contrasts to evolve and create an atmosphere and essence of the subject.
