Housman Although it’s very important to keep my paintings free from direct and obvious interpretation I still feel it is important to communicate my ideas on this piece. However each individual’s own ideas that they bring to the painting are entirely correct, and is a reflection on themselves. This series looks at the sense of puppetry and control "And make me dance as I desire" which affiliates itself with the control my conscious has over the piece, but also looks at the sense of breaking free and empowerment "And how am I to face the odds" which explores my unconscious is a sense of bravery and "my soul" does, in fact "fly". This piece is the strength and determination to rise up to the duality that could so easily conquer, and succeed, in what becomes a beautiful painting.
