This piece is part of a new series ‘FEINT’. Playing on the word ‘Faint’ due to the pale and washed out colour palette, the series lends itself to the description of ‘Feint’ : a movement made in order to deceive an adversary; an attack aimed at one place or point merely as a distraction from the real place or point of attack: A feigned or assumed appearance To make a false show of; simulate. This ties in with the themes of masking, absence, and the deceptive nature of the paint to conceal my face beneath it and turn it into something other; simulating a portrait This Limited Edition print experiments with the digital manipulation of images within this series, distorting and abstracting the portrait further.
