Artem Lozhkin is a painter who specialises in landscapes, seascapes, urban landscapes and figurative works. Painting professionally since 2014, Artem actively participates in national and international exhibitions. Whilst creating, Artem is attracted by one driving factor - his love of art as a profession and his business. Artem's true form of happiness comes from picking up brushes and paints and expressing his creativity through the works he creates. Over the past five years, Artem's work has significantly transformed and he continues to grow and develop his practice.
1) Which art movement do you consider most influential on your practice?
I prefer a realistic style. Thanks to my characteristic landscapes, seascapes, urban scenes and figurative works, I try to create images that the viewer likes. I strive for the most complete and adequate reflection of reality in all its diversity.
2) Where do you go and when to make your best art?
I paint pictures in the studio every day. I have one driving factor that attracts me to the easel - it's the love of my profession and what I do. I really like to pick up brushes and paints. This is happiness.
3) How do you describe your 'creative process'?
It's simple, I sit down and do what I love every day. I turn on the music louder, pick up the brushes and enjoy the process.
4) Which artist, living or deceased, is the greatest inspiration to you?
In my work, I have always been inspired by such artists as: Ivan Ivanovich Shishkin, Vasily Dmitrievich Polenov, Ivan Konstantinovich Aivazovsky.
5) If you weren't an artist, what would you do?
An interesting question.... I think I would still be drawn to painting.
6) What do you listen to for inspiration?
I listen to different rhythmic music.
7) If you could own one artwork, and money was no object, which piece would you acquire?
I would buy the work of Shishkin I.I. "Ship grove"
8) If your dream museum or collection owner came calling, which would it be?
I really want an exhibition at the Tretyakov Gallery. Therefore, a call from the owner of this gallery would have delighted and delighted me.
9) What is your key piece of advice for artists embarking on a fine art or creative degree today?
Sincerely love what the artist does, and devote a lot of time to the process of painting pictures.
10) What is your favourite book of all time (fiction or non fiction)?
I really like to read about famous artists, about their creative path, the process of becoming.
11) If you could hang or place your artwork in one non traditional art setting, where would it be?
I would like to hold an exhibition of paintings in an unconventional setting, for example, on Wall Street in New York.
12) What was the biggest lesson your university course or time studying taught you?
University is a good school of life. A system that teaches a lot and shows a model of competition. For me, the biggest lesson is related to the fact that it is necessary to invest emotions and energy in what I do.
13) And finally, if we were to fast forward 10 years, where would we find you?
You would catch me at my easel, doing my favourite activity. I do not know in which country, but definitely with a brush in my hands.
