Photographer Samuel Ryde featured this month in World of Interiors magazine with his photographs of the architecturally rich, modernist, low-rise cinema - the Curzon Mayfair.
The article shares the work of campaigners, lead by actor Tilda Swinton and director Steven Spielberg working to salvage this unique piece of London architecture and highlighting it's uique qualities.
Samuel writes:
"Last year I asked by Curzon Cinemas if I could take photos of the interior of their Mayfair cinema. The entire interior was designed by my boy William Mitchell and I wanted to document his work as part of my personal project on him. Since I took these photos however, it's future has become at risk. Curzon reached out to me to use these photos as part of their campaign to save it, I was happy to help. That has now turned into an article in The World of Interiors which I urge you to read to help save one of the oldest cinemas in London. Dominic Lutyens has written a super informative article highlighting exactly why this building is so important and why it's at risk."
