We can share with you this evening the news that artist Athena Anastasiou, who we introduced you to back in May, has been selected for this year’s Royal Academy of Arts 'Summer Exhibition'! Her piece 'Bringing the Past to New Horizons' from her 2019 'Contemporary Indigenous' series is on display until the 3rd January.
The show, which was founded 252 years ago and has never missed a year, is being held during the Autumn/ Winter in 2020 but we are so very pleased that it is still going ahead.
Today we offer you the chance to collect from this exciting, contemporary artist who uses bold colourful strokes, exposed linen, threads and layers of resin to sculpt her portraits. Through her process, she strips portraiture back to its bare essence, emphasising the silent and captivating dialogue between the sitter and viewer
