Inspired by a year of independent travel, India was the country that really captured artist Josh Gluckstein's imagination. Instantly mesmerized by the culture, beauty and people's of India, Gluckstein felt intent on creating a body of work to reflect his incredible experiences.
1) Which art movement do you consider most influential on your practice?
Post-impressionism
2) Where do you go and when to make your best art?
I get most of my inspiration from travel, seeing new colours and sights, meeting new people and experiences new cultures
3) How do you describe your 'creative process'?
Messy and unpredictable!
4) Which artist, living or deceased, is the greatest inspiration to you?
It has to be Van Gogh, not just for his prolific and stunning work, but also his unrivalled dedication to his art
5) If you weren't an artist, what would you do?
I don't want to think about it!
6) What do you listen to for inspiration?
No specific genre but I have a habit of listening to one song on repeat, I think it gives me rhythm
7) If you could own one artwork, and money was no object, which piece would you acquire?
The Raft of the Medusa
8) If your dream museum or collection owner came calling, which would it be?
The Louvre
9) What is your key piece of advice for artists embarking on a fine art or creative degree today?
Experiment, trust your process and take every piece of advice that comes your way
10) What is your favourite book of all time (fiction or non-fiction)?
Green Eggs and Ham by Dr Seuss
11) If you could hang or place your artwork in one non-traditional art setting, where would that be?
The Emirates Stadium, home of the greatest football team of all time
12) What was the biggest lesson your university course or time studying taught you?
Always believe in yourself,

All I can say for sure is that I will be making art
