From a very early age, Azcón's passion for travelling and discovering new horizons have deeply marked his vision of the world and influenced his artistic thinking. Azcón attended primary school at the "Ecole Européenne de Bruxelles" where he began to take an interest in art and especially in painting. Continuing his studies with L'Escola Massana of Barcelona he received a degree in Applied Arts, culminating with the final project, called "Foc verd" (Green fire). In 2010, Azcón completed his artistic training, graduating from the Faculty of Fine Arts (UB) in Barcelona. And in 2011, the master of "Artistic Creation: realismes i entorns" ("Realism and environments") That allowed him to mature his work and presented as a project: "painting with a photosynthesis", a poetic analogy between the biological process and his creative process.
1) Which art movement do you consider most influential on your practice?
The art movement most influential in my practice it´s abstract expressionism. By their energy through the stroke and intuition.
2) Where do you go and when to make your best art?
I usually work in my studio... but to take notes and reflect watching the sea or walking on the mountain.
3) How do you describe your 'creative process'?
My creative process is like a plant with photosynthesis. I capture my experiences, through the journey, through the observation of what surrounds me, the colour and its energy... my mind channels and transforms that energy into light, colour and movement.
4) Which artist, living or deceased, is the greatest inspiration to you?
For me, the artist that inspires me the most is Joan Miró. For the treatment of painting and especially for its symbolic and personal world.
5) If you weren't an artist, what would you do?
Certainly something related to the observation of nature and its conservation. Biologist, animal activist or documentary filmmaker.
6) What do you listen to for inspiration?
When I’m working, I like listening to music, like rock, classical and Catalan music.
7) If you could own one artwork, and money was no object, which piece would you acquire?
Departing that I like a work of art that I transmit, I have fallen in love with pieces of friends of mine artists and works of masters in the history of art. Specifically, I would choose one of the big pieces by Mark Rothko.
8) If your dream museum or collection owner came calling, which would it be?
What makes me happy is that my work can influence every person who sees my painting. Although I would like to be able to expose in the best museums in the United States, Australia, Europe or Asia.
9) What is your key piece of advice for artists embarking on a fine art or creative degree today?
Persistence and enthusiasm for what they do.
10) What is your favourite book of all time (fiction or non-fiction)?
The book that has made a strong impact on me is Voices of the Desert by Marlo Morgan.
11) If you could hang or place your artwork in one non-traditional art setting, where would that be?
In an aquarium or a Natural history museum.
12) What was the biggest lesson your university course or time studying taught you?
To make me reflect on my thoughts and how to channel them to my artistic work.
13) And finally, if we were to fast forward 10 years, where would we find you?
Living fully of my art and inspiring other young artists, of the good and beneficial of what it is to create.
