Collage Workshop with Hormazd Narielwalla | DegreeArt.com The Original Online Art Gallery

Taking place at the DegreeArt.com gallery on Vyner Street

31st May 2014  I  1-4 pm  I  £10

Hormazd Narielwalla is a collage maker working with tailoring patterns as his source materials. He interprets patterns as beautiful abstract shapes of the human form; transforming them into objects, artworks and artist books.

Join this workshop to gain an understanding into the process of using tailoring patterns to create artwork, and create your own using this unique source material. You will be provided with tailoring patterns sourced from domestic markets in the east end of London, and given the opportunity to create your own composition by combining these with craft materials, acetate, photographs and anything else you may want to include. This could be mean items from your personal archive, as diverse as a found postcard, tear sheet or magazine.

Explore the power of structure, form and colour. Utilise negative and positive space, gage interaction between objects and texture, and most importantly respond to the shape of the patterns in front of you.

Materials to bring: Your found photography, scissors, drawing materials if you wish.
