Colour Washes - Turquoise and Yellow Ochre - Inspired by the work of Helen Frankenthaler 1928 - 2011 an Abstract Expressionist painter. Her work was forever changing, but some pieces consisted of 'washes of colour with thin glazes of oil' These pieces take influence from that period, 'veils of transparent washes of oil paint, interlaid with bold mark' exploring space, form, marks and colour. The colours in this piece were inspired by the Mediterranean Sea. Painted in the spirit of Abstract Expressionism.
