Harry Holland (b. 1941, Glasgow) is widely regarded as one of Britain’s leading figurative painters. Trained at Saint Martin’s School of Art in the 1960s, he moved to Cardiff in 1973 and soon after committed himself fully to painting. His work combines classical technique with contemporary realism, exploring subjects such as the figure, myth, and still life. Known for their precision and atmospheric ambiguity, his paintings often hint at layered narratives that invite interpretation beyond what is shown.
