Artist in Residence: Lyra Morgan – Be Still in Flow
From 27 August to 5 October 2025, Bankside Hotel hosted Lyra Morgan as its Artist-in-Residence in the Art Yard Makers Studio.
Her residency and resulting collection, “Be Still in Flow”, drew inspiration from the Thames, exploring its energy, rhythm and meditative qualities. Each artwork in the series contains drops of Thames water, making the river an integral part of the work, and is accompanied by a poem written by the artist herself.
Visitors to the studio experienced a space transformed into an immersive reflection on water, with layers of sound, texture, and light. Public highlights included an evening reception during the Totally Thames Festival and a closing showcase on 2 October.
Lyra’s work captures the balance of stillness and motion, offering a lyrical reflection on the flow of water through the heart of London.
