You are invited to join artist in residence, Ernesto Romano, for a workshop dedicated to learning Cyanotype Prints + a dusting of crystals.
The cost is £25 per person and you will leave with your own piece of artwork.
During the workshop Ernesto Romano will be talking about his experimentations with the technique of cyanotypes, his project involving this printing method during the residency and process of crystals in his work.
You will be given an introduction to the history of Cyanotypes and the tools needed to put into practice this technique and be able to create, in few simple steps, your print to adorn with crystals and take home with you.
Ernesto will provide objects (flowers, leaves, x-ray films etc) but feel free to bring anything that you would like to use. It can be a leaf or a flower from the garden, an everyday object (cutlery, scissors, etc), a special piece of jewelry or trinket or a negative/transparency with an image.
What is a Cyanotype?
Cyanotype is a photographic printing process that produces a cyan-blue print. Engineers used the process well into the 20th century as a simple and low-cost process to produce copies of drawings, referred to as blueprints.
*No fine art experience required.
*Snacks and beverages will be served throughout the workshop.
