Diasec print (Digital image sandwiched between Dibond backing and acrylic glass front) with overlying impasto acrylic paint. Using pigments gathered from natural sources, the paints used within the images for this series are hand made (with the exception of the bronze!) The rich earth tones are grounded in nature and evoke a sense of woody forests and dusky skies. It is called ‘Earthly Origin’ because of its connection to the Earth, but also because within the masking process it feels as if you really are in a different ‘zone’, so when you start the process you are of Earthly origin, but during the painting you go somewhere else.
