“Journey Through Red” and its partner “Exit” were painted simultaneously. For me they are a visual demonstration of a time of questioning, turmoil, change, resolution and renewal. As such I feel that they belong together, and as I often paint pairs of works, they could be displayed as a pair. However they would each also work on their own. Either of them may perhaps be appropriate to commemorate a difficult time that was finally resolved. The colours are strong and there is lots of blackish greys. (“Exit” is far more textured than “Journey through red”.) This painting is not framed but has a bright red painted edge. It is ready to hang as it is, or could be framed.
