This is the second of two paintings commissioned by Degree Art for the Hong Kong branch of Standard Chartered Bank. The bank wanted two pieces which symbolised it's support of LGBTQ relations. I felt it apt to use photographs from the 2019 Pride parade in Taiwan as the basis for my vision, given that the event was held in celebration of the passing of a bill to legalise same sex marriages. In this vibrant cascade of joy, I've poured my heart into capturing the essence of celebration and human connection. Using acrylics, silk screen printing, and ink, I meld expressionism with a semi-abstract style to convey the joy, warmth and sense of togetherness of this symbolic moment. The splatters of colors represent life's random beauties, mirroring the uninhibited bliss of the crowds. This piece is an invitation to cherish every jubilant moment, echoing in spaces it inhabits with a spirit of love and festivity
