"From the Ground Up (2)" is one of a pair, the other being "From the Ground Up (1)" They would look very good together, perhaps on a stairs or narrow hallway. The colours are muted so would add to a muted decor but the black and the white will bring the eye to the work. Both are quite textured and made using mixed media - paper and canvas collage with wood glue, acrylic paint, even some soil, brown paper etc on primed canvas. They are not framed, but would look good with a simple frame around them. Please ask if you would like them framed with a light wood surround. (with the necesssary price and delivery time adjustment) The paintings were made during a period of experimentation with collage after visiting Sandra Blow's Studio in St. Ives. The titles reflect my mood at the time, when organic shapes from winter landscapes were prevalent - dark trees, the moon, the colours of a quieter time of the year. I hope that they engender a feeling of calm as well as winter starkness.
