Lady in a blue Kente dress is a mixed media drawing by Kwesi Awotwi. This piece is a portrait of Kwesi’s Beloved Grandma, who resides in Accra Ghana. Lady in a blue Kente dress is one of his earlier works, in which Kwesi attempts to combine African art&expressionism with his formal western artistic training. In creation of this piece Kwesi drew with a charcoal stick loosely on toned paper, and then applied soft pastels with colour pencils to create depth in the drawing.
