This is a contemporary transcription of one of the Met Museum (New York) miniatures. Traditionally these were worn as pendants around a sweetheart's neck. This version is repainted/overpainted, and collaged with papers, and crystal rhinestones (a stunning effect),. This is photobombed by bell hooks. About bell hooks | bell hooks Institute. bell hooks is an acclaimed intellectual, feminist theorist, cultural critic, artist, and writer. hooks has authored over three dozen books and has published works that span several genres, including cultural criticism, personal memoirs, poetry collections, and children's book. bell hooks decided not to capitalize her new name to place focus on her work rather than her name, on her ideas rather than her personality.
