Digital print on archival paper with overlying oil paint Mounted on Dibond. This piece is called 'Oil & Water' because of the use of both oil paint and water based emulsion in the work. The emulsion in the background creates a dripping effect that contrasts with the thick oil paint in the forefront. I have applied the emmulsion paint over the top of the oil paint coated on my face, creating a cracking effect, and adding a different layer to the work. The popping out, muting down, and cracking up aspect this work has because of the two different substances interests me.
