SOUND is one of three similar paintings. They would display well as a triptych, as a pair, or singly. I live next to a river in a valley in the Welsh Hills I can hear it all the time. It's a constant source of energy. It soothes one enormously. We can hear red kites and buzzards calling overhead. I have seen the heron fly down and swoop under out little bridge rising up with a small trout in his beak. I can see the water weeds waving in the current and hear the birds singing in the bushes on the banks that send out their branches into the river below. When one looks up the river there is a little bridge that faces south and catches the orange gllints of the sun on warm days. These paintings were painted with all that in mind - both the visual impressions and the auditory aspects. I hope that I can send this sense of calmness, tranquility and renewal to the person who likes this painting enough to see it more often. Each painting is on thick raw soft duck canvas on chunky stretchers. I do not think they should be framed.
