Join our Artist in Residence, Lucy Stevens, for her first in person workshop at Bankside Hotel. Collage beautiful imagery of birds and nature from magazines and books. Bring these images to life by layering with the songs and calls of nature using paint, pencil, ink, wax and oil pastels. We will listen to a selection of field recordings gathered by Lucy in London and across the UK which feature birdsong. If you have your own recordings of birdsong and want to visualise these, then please bring them along!

About the 'Taste of Art' series:

Bankside, the design-led hotel on the south bank of the River Thames, has announced the launch of the ‘Taste of Art’ series, offering guests the chance to take part in an interactive art and design workshop with a Bankside artist in residence, followed by a three course dinner at ArtYard Bar & Kitchen, the hotel’s art-filled restaurant. During the Taste of Art series, guests will have the chance to meet the artist in residence, get a taste of their artistic process and learn some creative skills during an extended workshop set within the artists’ studio. The sessions, will be followed by a delicious 3-course meal prepared by ArtYard’s Head Chef Stephen Englefield, which guests will be able to enjoy in the main restaurant.
