Cath Laffan

University of Brighton (MA Art and Design by Independent Project , 2011)

I am a lecturer in mixed media and silver jewellery at Plumpton College. I am the course leader for the Foundation Degree in Creative Metalworking and also teach diploma students and University of Brighton’s Level 5 Options modules. I run a workshop in Brighton as a self employed designer maker and have recently completed a Masters in Art and Design (specialising in metal sculpture and small films) at Brighton University. I work on a commission basis as well as supplying shops and galleries. I am a founder member of “Brighton Designers and Makers” situated in Sydney Street, Brighton and co-manage the iO gallery on site, showing local artists.
